The City of Bel Aire and Wichita Transit are seeking your input! 


Bel Aire is working with Wichita Transit to conduct an outreach study to the suburbs of Wichita, getting base-line transit demand information. This information will help Wichita Transit in the future when they look to incorporate regional service of some kind.The survey can be returned to City of Bel Aire, Attention Rick Rekoske , 7651 East Central Park Avenue, Bel Aire KS 67226 OR fill your survey out and e-mail to For the month of August, you will find a copy of this survey with your utility bills.

The city is implementing a program that lets

ONLY Bel Aire residents utilize the brush-drop off site monthly April through October.

Details are below.

Accepted Materials: Tree Limbs and Shrubbery

Date: 2nd Saturday Monthly, April through October from 9:00am to 1:00pm

Unaccepted Materials: Leaves and Grass Clippings or Construction Waste

Important: Please provide Bel Aire utility bill or driver's license for proof of residency.



SIGN ORDINANCE ATTENTION BEL AIRE RESIDENTS & BUISNESSES: Except as otherwise provided in this Article, it is unlawful for any person to place, locate, erect, construct, reconstruct, remodel, relocate, alter, hang, affix or create by painting, a political sign within the corporate limits of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas. (Ord. 333). Just a reminder to please follow our Sign Ordinance 333 when putting up your signs. The list below is just a few of the items to consider before locating or placing your sign in Bel Aire. For a more complete list of all the details associated with this ordinance please see Ordinance 333 on our website.  Thank you! -The gross surface area of the sign does not exceed five (5) square feet.         -The sign shall not be more than five (5) feet in height. 3.         -The sign shall be on private property and shall not be located closer than six (6) feet to a side property line.  - No political sign shall be placed upon or supported in any way by public property. -No political sign shall project over public right‑of‑way.         -No political sign may be erected more than thirty (30) days prior to an election involving the candidate or ballot issue and all signs shall be removed within two (2) days following the election in which the ballot issue is decided or the candidate is elected to office or is eliminated from further participation in the election as a candidate.

A new study from NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy site, lists Bel Aire as the 4th Best place for Homeownership in Kansas!  The data included  affordability, population growth and homeownership rates.



Helpful Tips on watering your lawn

Please remember to turn off your sprinklers the day after we have received a large amount of rain. This will help save money and conserve water. As water becomes more valuable the City of Bel Aire wishes to protect our valuable resource.




  The City of Bel Aire would like to inform citizens of some recent solicitation letters going around Bel Aire from a company called HomeServe.  We want you to know we do not provide water and sewer information to any company requesting information. HomeServe company is not associated with the City in any way nor do they have access to any information regarding your home. This is a home warranty company sending out blanket solicitation to try to get business and it's the homeowners discretion to participate with this company.



Whether you own or rent a property in Bel Aire, you are responsible for proper lawn care. In accordance with Bel Aire Ordinance 345, Section 9.2.1, all owners, agents, lessees, tenants or other person occupying or having control of a given property must maintain the premises between the property lines and extending to the centerline of any adjacent street or alley.

Bel Aire was ranked as the #1 suburb in Sedgwick County and #7 in the state of Kansas!
