Playful City USA
The City of Bel Aire has been selected as a 2010 Playful City USA by KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing and saving play for chilren. Playful City USA communities are making a commitment to play and physical activity by developing unique local action plans to increase the quantity and quality of play in their community. In doing so, some of the most innovative ideas and cost-effective programs are being developed in Playful City USA communities -- providing that parks and play are more important than ever.
The City of Bel Aire has a plan of action to improve the quality, quality and access of play spaces to show our committement to safe, accessable play spaces for current and future generations. KaBOOM! selected Bel Aire for its outstanding dedication to play. A notable aspect of its commitment to children -- a Play Advocacy Initiative is being created in Bel Aire to increase the awareness of the importance of play.
Playspace Finder
The Playspace Finder is a useful tool to find designated areas within the community or nation-wide. In addition to the location, each play space description contains pictures, amenities at the site, and a space for comments from users of the playgrounds or play spaces.
