Police Chief John R. Daily
Chief John Daily has been the Chief of Police for the Bel Aire Police Department since 2006. He became the Interim Chief in May 2006 and was appointed to the full time position in September of 2006.
Chief Daily's law enforcement career started in 1973 as a Deputy Sheriff with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. Over the next 30 years, Daily held a variety of positions on the Sheriff's Office. He worked in Patrol, Detectives, Training, the Exploited and Missing Child Unit, the Narcotics Section, and the Professional Standards Unit. He was the co-author of the Field Training Officer program and was directly involved in the first joint Training Academy between the Sheriff's Office and the Wichita Police Department. Daily was promoted through the ranks to Lieutenant and retired in December 2003 after a very distinguished career.
Chief Daily has an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Barton County Community College, a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Friends University, and is a graduate of the D. E. A. Command School, W. S. U. Mini MPA program, and the F. B. I. Central States Law Enforcement Executive Development program.
